The Peace Revolution Project was started in 2008 when someone pretty cool decided to start talking to the world about what he believed: Inner Peace can lead to World Peace, if people could just learn how to find inner peace for themselves! He got together with some other people who believed the same thing... and, well, here we are!

So... we have invented what we think is a chill way to have some fun with inner peace... aka meditation. We taped some meditation experts and you can check them out on MP3s; you can learn more about what inner peace really is; you can take a few fun quizzes; and then, if you want to get serious, you can do an on-line self-development program. You can even post questions on our Peace Wall for our online community. So hang back, and cruise the site. It's the best place to be.

Welcome to the Peace Revolution Project

Peace. Only recently have I begun to understand the meaning of this word when there was a lack of it. As a Thai native, I have witnessed an internal conflict that came very close to being called a civil war. The conflict violently tore the fabric of Thai society and revealed the darkest side of human nature.

The cause of this tragedy has been told repeatedly. It began with disagreement among different groups of people over a country’s resources. The tension arose when both sides lacked restraints and the willingness to sacrifice, as they exploited every means necessary for their own advantages. Eventually, a perception that the other side is an enemy first and human second sank in; and once this perception was deeply engrained in their minds, they were driven to commit acts of violence in the name of principles. No matter whom the victors were, their principles have already been tainted by blood.

If the purpose of history is for us to learn from our past, then surely it is our categorical imperative to ensure that we as the next generation can do better than the last. I believe in this optimistic side of our nature that strives for self-development, and this is why I believe in the Peace Revolution Project.

This project brings an abstract nature of the concept of peace and ground it in a set of concrete foundations. We can achieve peace through the act of meditation, the act of self-discipline, and the act of giving. Meditation eliminates the mentality of hatred and allows us to perceive various events that affect our lives with a sense of equanimity. Self-discipline imposes restraints on our own actions so that we would not hurt ourselves as well as others. Giving our time and energy to services lets us build a better community while the act of forgiving can provide resolution to conflicts and is pivotal to the process of healing.

The project is accessible for everyone with an internet connection. It requires only a marginal but regular commitment from you to meditate, to share your experiences online, and to participate in the self-development program. Peace agents also get an opportunity to apply for fellowship for Peace Revolution Conference, which is held regularly in Thailand to advance our understanding of the culture of peace.

So let’s show the world our true potential.

Yours truly
