The Peace Revolution Project was started in 2008 when someone pretty cool decided to start talking to the world about what he believed: Inner Peace can lead to World Peace, if people could just learn how to find inner peace for themselves! He got together with some other people who believed the same thing... and, well, here we are!

So... we have invented what we think is a chill way to have some fun with inner peace... aka meditation. We taped some meditation experts and you can check them out on MP3s; you can learn more about what inner peace really is; you can take a few fun quizzes; and then, if you want to get serious, you can do an on-line self-development program. You can even post questions on our Peace Wall for our online community. So hang back, and cruise the site. It's the best place to be.

Hello everyone, I have posted this topic as its one of the challenges I have received and that’s trying to explain meditation to my friends because I have received many Negative comments. Some of the comments like. -That when you close your eyes for so long it washes your brain and you will remain with nothing. -This is confusion at work. Hello peace rebels lets share how we can convince you friend accept the new change in you. Dennis

Hi Dennis,

To me, meditation helps us to have clearer mind therefore such clearer mind will have power to do things. Let’s think that our mind is liked a water with full of mud (mud can compare with several things on our mind) and by doing meditation which means we have to still our mind & by stilling our mind at the center of the body, mud would go down to the bottom of the glass so the water becomes clear & then we can see things in that water. It is applied to meditation when our mind is stilled , the mind will have power to do things.

Dennis, such a good question!
Jamaree thank you for such a clear answer.

There are lots of scientific studies that have been done to measure the effects of meditation on the body. Some of the proven results were that it lowers blood pressure, it decreases the natural production of the body's stress hormone, reverses the aging process and improves sleeping patterns. So, the physical effects are quite straight forward. Note: there were NO harmful effects on the body from meditation, only positive!

But I found the best way to convince friends, is not to try and convince them at all!

You can say to them that they do not have to even believe you, they can try it for themselves.
They can only have an opinion on meditation once they've tried it themselves.

You need to sign in to the system before you can post.
